Second year running a Studio Lambert exec wins best producer award at WFTV Awards
Studio Lambert head of drama Sue Hogg won the Envy Producer Award at the Women in Film and TV Awards at the London Hilton this week. Last year, the same award was won by Tania Alexander for her work on Gogglebox.
Sue’s award was primarily for her work on the acclaimed BBC One miniseries Three Girls made by Studio Lambert in association with BBC Studios.
In an unprecedented coup at the WFTV Awards, the writer, director and editor awards all went to women who had worked in those roles on Three Girls; screenwriter Nicole Taylor was presented with the Creative Skillset Writing Award, Philippa Lowthorpe won the Deluxe Director Award and Una Ni Dhonghaile won the Technicolor Creative Technology Award.

Three Girls takes home two Royal Television Society Craft Awards
Last night (Monday 27th November) Three Girls took home two awards from the Royal Television Society Craft Awards. The ceremony which celebrates excellence in broadcast television and the huge variety of skills involved in programme production awarded the Studio Lambert drama awards in the categories of Editing and Director of Photography.
This brings the total awards won by the production to eight since it aired on BBC One earlier this year.

Additionally, Three Girls has been nominated in the category of ‘Best Drama’ while Maxine Peake is up for best ‘Drama Performance’ for her role as Sara Rowbotham in the Studio Lambert produced Drama for BBC.

Channel 4 commissions daytime entertainment format, Buy It Now
Britain’s inventors, makers, and licensees of products are being given the chance to sell their new wares in front of potential customers and the buyers of major retailers in new Channel 4 series Buy It Now w/t, presented by actor, singer, presenter and comedian Brian Conley, it was announced today.
The new 30×30’ daytime series produced by Studio Lambert will invite individual sellers to showcase their product to an audience of potential customers. Pitching anything from toys to clothes to gadgets, each seller has only 90 seconds to get the customers interested – and retain them when they reveal the price of their product – as the customers will be parting with their personal money for the product.
Buy It Now is produced by Studio Lambert and was commissioned by Gill Wilson, Head of Features for Channel 4 and Tim Hancock, Commissioning Editor for Features and Daytime for Channel 4. Tim Harcourt and Cat Lawson are the executive producers for Studio Lambert.

All 4 Commissions observational documentary, ‘Sketch’s Prison Ink’
All 4 has commissioned Studio Lambert to explore the culture of tattoos in Britain’s prisons in Sketch’s Prison Ink.
Fronted by Tattoo Fixers tattoo artist Sketch, the 8×11’ observational documentary series will follow him as he immerses himself in the meaning and culture of prison tattoos. Sketch will meet people who were tattooists inside, others who got inked, and the guards who try to stop this dangerous practice.
Sketch: Prison Ink is produced by Studio Lambert and was commissioned by Thom Gulseven, Commissioning Editor and Daisy Mount, Editor for All 4. Jack Burgess, Matt J. Smith and Niall O’Driscoll are the executive producers for Studio Lambert.

The new 8×60’ series, Top of the Shop with Tom Kerridge produced by Studio Lambert gives these passionate kitchen table producers an opportunity to showcase their produce to real customers as well as two expert judges as they attempt to convince them that their product is the best and deserves a permanent space on our shelves.
Top of the Shop with Tom Kerridge was commissioned by Patrick Holland, Controller of BBC Two and David Brindley, Head of Popular Factual and Factual Entertainment and the Commissioning Editor is Catherine Catton. The series is being produced by Studio Lambert where Tom Garland and Tim Harcourt are executive producers, Gary Broadhurst is series editor and Zoe Page is the series producer.

Three Girls win at La Rochelle Festival de la Fiction
Three Girls took home the Special Jury prize for Best European Drama at the Festival de la Fiction TV. During the festival, the Three Girls screening was in such demand that a second screening room was opened to accommodate viewers.
The La Rochelle Festival de la Fiction TV celebrates French and international television and film productions. It takes place every year in September at La Rochelle, France.
