CBS gives prime spot to Undercover Boss

CBS has announced that it will premiere Undercover Boss in the coveted post-Super Bowl timeslot, launching February 7 about 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

The Super Bowl is the most watched television event of the year. Boss will then move to Sundays at 9 p.m. starting the following week, February 14, behind the return of The Amazing Race.

Jamie Isaacs, the creator of the multi-award-winning The Choir and the international hit format World’s Strictest Parents, is to join Studio Lambert as creative director with a brief to create new factual entertainment formats and broaden the range of the company’s output into other genres including drama.

Studio Lambert‘s series on the benefits system was watched by an above-average audience of 2.3m. Critics liked the dark comedy of the films.

Channel 4 has ordered a series for a new formatted series presented by Hayley Taylor, one of the main characters featured in the series.

Channel 4 orders new series about B&B owners

The Features Department of Channel 4 has ordered 8 x 60′ of a new factual entertainment series in which the owners of three bed and breakfast establishments take it in turns to stay with each other.

Channel 4 orders more Undercover Boss

After strong ratings for the first two episodes of Undercover Boss, Channel 4 has ordered a full length series of 6 x 60′ for 2010.

Audiences for Undercover Boss peaked at more than 3 million.

Benefit Busters scheduled for August transmission

Studio Lambert‘s first major observational documentary series, about the personal and emotional stories of claimants affected by the radical reforms that the British government has introduced to the welfare system, is scheduled to start airing on Channel 4 on 20 August 2009.

ITV1 orders All at Sea, a new primetime celebrity travel series

ITV Factual has ordered a 3 x 60′ primetime series following six well-known people travelling by different kinds of boat from Cornwall to London.

The series will star Richard Madeley, Nick Hancock, Dawn Porter, Bradley Walsh, Mark Durden-Smith and Rosemary Shrager journeying along the south coast in a WW2 motor-torpedo vessel, a tall ship, a trawler, and various kinds of luxury yachts.

ITV orders more Paradise Lost

The first episode of Studio Lambert‘s Paradise Lost: Spain for ITV1 attracted 4.5 million viewers. The two part series is the third most popular factual series on ITV1 in 2009.

Paradise Lost: Florida will shortly go into production.

CBS has ordered 8 x 60′ of Undercover Boss. Clips from the pilot episode featuring the boss of America’s largest waste and recycling company, Waste Management, were shown at CBS’s Upfront presentation in May in New York.
