Studio Lambert makes senior promotions

Studio Lambert has promoted three members of its senior team as the company continues its growth in large scale unscripted shows and drama series.

Tim Harcourt, who has been creative director since 2014, becomes chief creative officer. Harcourt has led the company’s unscripted programming for nearly a decade and been responsible for many of its hit shows including BAFTA-winning “Race Across the World” for BBC and “The Circle” for Netflix.

Mike Cotton, who was deputy creative director, and oversees both “The Traitors” for BBC and NBC Peacock as well as BAFTA-winning “Gogglebox” for Channel 4, becomes creative director (unscripted).

Maddie Sinclair becomes creative director (scripted). She is executive producing Studio Lambert’s new comedy drama series for the BBC, “Boarders”, alongside Sue Hogg and the creator/writer Daniel Lawrence Taylor.

New Year start for The Traitors Season 2 on BBC One

The BBC have confirmed that The Traitors Series 2 will be launching on Wednesday 3rd January at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer. Claudia Winkleman returns as she greets 22 strangers in the Scottish Highlands hoping to win up to £120,000.

A star-studded Gogglebox lineup for Stand Up To Cancer

For one night only, celebs gathered for a very special edition of Gogglebox in aid of Stand Up To Cancer. The two-parter featured Stephen Graham, Hannah Walters, Bob Mortimer, Richard Ayoade, Jennifer Saunders, Beattie Edmondson, Nicole Scherzinger, Thom Evans, Harry Hill, Tim Vine, Jeff Brazier and Bobby Brazier.

The BBC have announced Series 3 of The Traitors with applications now open for anyone wishing to take part.

Series 2 will be airing in early 2024 on BBC One and iPlayer.

Celebrity Race Across The World Series Two Announced

After an incredible race from Africa to the Arctic, Celebrity Race Across The World will be returning to BBC One & iPlayer for a second series. The first series proved to be a ratings winner as the BBC’s biggest factual entertainment brand of the year to date with the first episode averaging 6.2m viewers.

Boarders First Look

First look images of Daniel Lawrence Taylor’s drama ‘Boarders’, produced by Studio Lambert have been released.

The six-part series follows five talented under privileged black students from inner-city London as they gain scholarships at St. Gilberts, an elite boarding school.

It will air on BBC Three and iPlayer in early 2024.

The social media competition is returning to Netflix for two brand new series after production moved to Atlanta earlier this year. Series Six will be available on Netflix in Spring 2024.

The much anticipated Squid Game: The Challenge has proven to be a ratings hit as it reached Netflix’s Number 1 spot in 87 countries after it launched on November 22nd.

The show sees 456 players battle it out for the $4.56M cash prize, the largest in TV history.

Surviving Paradise launch date announced

Netflix have announced that Studio Lambert’s new show Surviving Paradise will be available globally from 20 October.

Twelve contestants think they’re going to have the summer of their lives in a clifftop, oceanside villa. However, they’ll start with nothing, living in the nearby woods with no luxuries. They must fight their way into the villa for the chance to win $100,000.

The new coming-of-age comedy drama, created by BAFTA nominated Daniel Lawrence Taylor and produced by Studio Lambert explores a group of talented black underprivileged students as they win scholarships to an elite boarding school.

The drama will star Daniel Lawrence Taylor, Josh Tedeku, Jodie Campbell, Myles Kamwendo, Sekou Diaby and Aruna Jalloh and will air in 2024 on BBC Three and iPlayer.

Race Across the World races back to record audiences on BBC One

After a pause due to covid, Race Across The World is back for season 3 with a race across the Canada. The launch episode attracted 4.6 million viewers, with a 24.9% share which outperformed the slot average by 36%. A hit with young viewers, it scored a 40% share of Adults 16-34, which more than doubled the slot average.

Studio Lambert shows won three awards at the RTS Programme Awards – The Traitors won the best entertainment programme and Gogglebox won the best formatted popular factual award. And Claudia Winkelman won the best entertainment performance award for her performance as the host of The Traitors on BBC One.

Rise & Fall secures an average of 1 million viewers in first week

Studio Lambert’s new 18 episode social experiment game for Channel 4 attracted an averaged of 1 million viewers for its first six episodes, with an 8.6% share which outperformed the slot average by 46%. A hit with young viewers, it scored a 19.6% share of Adults 16-34, more than doubling the slot average.
