Three Broadcast Awards nominations for Studio Lambert

Gogglebox has been short listed in two categories – Best Original Programme and Best Popular Factual Programme – and How to Get a Council House has been nominated in the Best Documentary Series category of the 2013 Broadcast Awards. The winners will be announced on the 5 February 2014.

The second series of Gogglebox with 13 episodes rates above the Channel 4 average for 10pm slot. Last night’s episode (episode 4) was watched by 1.7 million viewers.

Undercover Boss won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Program for the second year running.

Channel 4 orders more Undercover Boss and Four in a Bed

Channel 4 has ordered a sixth series of Undercover Boss after the last series performed well and a further 40 episodes of hit daytime format Four in a Bed for broadcast in 2014 bringing the total ordered to 280 episodes.

Bravo orders US version of Gogglebox

Bravo Media in the US has ordered a half-hour unscripted series based on UK format Gogglebox.

The People’s Couch (3×30′) features people watching and commenting on TV shows from the past week. The UK version, made by Studio Lambert, was first broadcast on Channel 4 earlier this year.

Andrew Kravis wins $2.6 million, the largest cash prize in gameshow history

In a two-hour finale last night of The Million Second Quiz the audience grew by 50% over the two hours ending with 6 million viewers watching as Andrew Kravis won the grand prize of $2.6 million.

MSQ app is the #1 in America

The Million Second Quiz app has ranked as the number one free app on i-Phone and i-Pad for several days following the launch of the series on NBC.

Nearly 2 million people have downloaded the app and more than 25 million games have been played on it. The series launched on NBC on September 9th attracting 6.5 million viewers and a rating of 1.7 in the 18-49 demo, which means it had the second largest audience for a debuting series on US broadcast television this summer after CBS’s Under the Dome.

Channel 4 orders six part series about domestic staff

Channel 4 has ordered a series from Studio Lambert about how butlers, groundsmen and housekeepers are recruited through job ads in The Lady magazine.

The 6 x 60-minute Situation Vacant (working title) will follow the specific requests of the readers and the efforts The Lady’s team does to ensure potential employees are the right fit. It will take in the rigorous shortlisting and the interview process, with the jobs featured including some of the most prestigious in contemporary domestic service.

Greg Goldman joins as President, Studio Lambert USA

Greg Goldman has been appointed President of Studio Lambert USA, the Los Angeles-based studio that creates and produces American series and adapts formats created by founder Stephen Lambert.

In this new role, Goldman will report to Studio Lambert ceo Stephen Lambert and will create, sell, and oversee original series, as well as help Lambert bring Studio Lambert’s UK formats to the US market. Goldman was previously with Renegade 83 where he most recently created and executive produced Ready For Love for NBC and Capture for the CW.

How to Get a Council House performs well on Channel 4

Channel 4’s new series How To Get a Council House moved in to the schedule with an audience of over 2m on Thursday.

The Studio Lambert three-parter came second in the 9pm slot as the show examined how London’s Tower Hamlet’s council is handling housing large numbers of people.

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest has agreed to host The Million Second Quiz.

NBC’s President of Alternative Programming, Paul Telegdy commented that “Ryan is an accomplished host of live TV and a master of social media and pop culture. This makes him perfect for The Million Second Quiz.”

BBC Two orders series searching for Britain’s best amateur interior designer

BBC Two is set to hunt for Britain’s best amateur interior designer in a major early-peak format from Studio Lambert.

The channel has commissioned the company to make Britain’s Best Interior Designer (working title), which will pit home makeover enthusiasts against each other over 12 weeks. The show is being lined up to air in early 2014.

Channel 4 orders 13 episodes for series 2 of Gogglebox

Channel 4 has announced that following the critically-acclaimed first series of Studio Lambert‘s Gogglebox earlier this year, the series will return in September with a 13 episode run featuring the same much-loved and highly opinionated British households, as well as a few new additions, all gainfully commenting on the biggest and best shows on television.

NBC orders Studio Lambert’s Million Second Quiz

NBC is taking the plunge with a new 24/7 live reality show created by Studio Lambert and produced with All3 America.

Paul Telegdy, President of NBC’s Alternative Programming said that “what is exceptional about Quiz is that it embraces technology’s ability to allow everyone in America to actively participate and compete in a way that has never been done.”

Stephen Lambert to receive C21/FRAPA Gold Award

Studio Lambert founder Stephen Lambert is to receive the C21/FRAPA Gold Award, presented in association with MipFormats.

The award is given in recognition of outstanding achievement and contribution to the formats business, and will be presented at MipFormats in Cannes after Lambert’s keynote address on Sunday April 7.

Gogglebox launches on Channel 4

Gogglebox is Studio Lambert‘s new fast-turnaround series that goes into living rooms across Britain to get a taste of the nation’s real reactions to the week’s biggest and best TV shows.

It is narrated by Caroline Aherne and will air on Channel 4 at 10pm on Thursdays from 7 March.

ITV2 orders second series of Girlfriends

Following a successful first series, ITV2 has recommissioned Girlfriends, a Studio Lambert production based on a successful Israeli format.

Hosted by Emma Willis, the series follows three single women of different ages, life experiences and backgrounds as they meet for the first time with a common goal – to find true love.
