The monthly trade magazine Televisual has just published their annual report into the TV indie sector.

Studio Lambert was voted the producers’ producer in the report’s annual peer poll in which indies vote for the rivals they most admire.

Undercover Boss returns to the CBS schedule on 2 October in a new 9pm slot.

Amazon Prime’s UK division has ordered an immersive reality dating format from Studio Lambert. The show will see a group of unlucky-in-love Brits attempt to find love by going back to school – or more precisely an American high school out of a classic movie.

Channel 4 orders third season of The Circle plus The Celebrity Circle

Channel 4 has recommissioned The Circle for a third series alongside an additional celebrity series, The Celebrity Circle, as part of the Stand Up To Cancer campaign. The previous series of the reality format where ‘anyone can be anyone’ was a huge hit for young audiences. In 2019 it was Channel 4’s highest rating 10pm series for 16-34-year-old viewers since 2010 and was one of All 4’s top 10 most viewed titles of the year.

The second season of Celebrity Gogglebox launched to 6 million viewers with a 25.1% share, exceeding the slot average by 55%.

Race Across the World second highest rating show on BBC Two this year

Season Two of Race Across the World attracted an average 3.7 million viewers with a 14.8% share, exceeding the slot average by 47%.

The second series grew its audience by 46% from the first and is the second highest-rated programme on BBC Two this year behind Top Gear.

The Nest is BBC’s biggest new drama launch of the year

The Nest launched with an impressive average of 9 million viewers, making it the biggest new BBC drama launch of the year so far. All3 International has sold the series to AMC-owned Acorn in the USA and to several other territories.

Fox Orders Celebrity Watch Party

ABC has ordered a second season of The Hustler.

Fox has ordered a ten episode series of Celebrity Watch Party, a celebrity version of the highly successful Gogglebox format.

The series launches 7 May and will feature the Osbournes, Rob Lowe and sons, Tyra Banks and her mother and many others.

Netflix order two more seasons of The Circle US

Netflix has announced a double pick up of the US version of The Circle.  Comedian Michelle Buteau will return to host the show, which has proved to be a hit with Netflix subscribers and US critics since it launched on New Year’s Day.
